Mein Liebster. Was du mir bringen sollst?, wirklich gar nichts.
Mathilde.

My dearest. – You have now been 14 days away from me and the four days still to pass seem to me to be endlessly long. It is really quite abhorrent. It is very good that Gerstl wants to travel on Saturday evening, it is the only way that we shall be alone. How did you manage to conclude the business with the money? It seems quite inexplicable where you got it all from. And in addition the great expense of the beds. But I am so pleased about it. It will be more durable and better to lie on. How is the children’s room coming along? Really nice? Alex wrote at last today. If the child is better, they would like to come on Thursday. What should you bring me? Really nothing. I am only looking forward to seeing you. You should not spend any more money. Just something for the children. By the way, if you really want to bring me something – a not too small standing mirror. But not too expensive. – It is now raining today. Yesterday we had a huge thunderstorm. Perhaps it will be fine again by Saturday. My darling, I love you very much. The children are healthy and look forward to seeing you very much. Trudi counts the hours. Many kisses, my love from your
Mathilde.
