Mein liebster Arnold. Sei also nicht bös. – Leb wohl mein liebes, liebes Herzerl. Viele Küsse deine
Mathilde

My dearest Arnold.
Now only 8 days and we will be together again. I really cannot wait. And constantly, when it’s so nice here, I must always think, that you must stay in horrible Vienna and work so hard. I would be so happy if all this was over. – Yesterday I was at the procession in Gmunden with Trudi. It was terribly hot, and we had to go both ways by foot. However, Trudi was very happy, and so I was also glad. But I don’t like to walk a lot. The first days you are here, you absolutely mustn’t work. You must row me about all day and I will not even steer. I have a great need for a lot of rest. Yesterday, in Gmunden, I had myself weighed and was 58Kg. Trudi weighs 25 Kg. – Are you satisfied with my weight. My dear, in case you have not yet sent me any money, please do it at once. And if you would round up the amount, I would be very pleased. I am, in a word, very short. Sunday, Tuesday and Friday I have a lot of payments to make. Don’t be cross. – The boat winches have been done, also the table in the garden and the footbridge. Bye bye my darling, many kisses your
Mathilde.
